It is my experiance that governments seek advice from similar governments for advice on cutting budgets, personel issues, and mastering each service they render. Lendership should not look at the 'cheat sheet" and copy similar governments. City Council's must look inward at themselves and the services they provide. Then, think "outside the box" to trim cost and demand efficient operation of each department. Never trust a Council person that starts a statement with; I want.......no one cares what he wants! What he should want is what is best for the community as a whole. Take it from someone who knows. John (Larry) Fox, Mayor, Montgomery, Texas

I find it interesting that Marion patches asphalts streets with concrete and Hillsboro patches concrete streets with asphalt.

I also find it interesting that Marion does serious asphalt patching on only one ocasion and it's in the fall. One day a month would greatly improve the maintenance of our streets.

So my daughter can have a cow in town as long as it is a milk cow (which could be a calf that becomes a milk cow) and up to 3 of them? However, the only way to get milk is for the cow to have a calf which requires a bull. Is the bull allowed in town for services or can you own one and keep it town? And what about the calves that are born to start the milk production? It would appear that where the ordiance says 3 it actually allows for at least 7. Please clarify. Thanks.
